Lac de Salanfe Hiking Trail

A classic and highly rewarding hiking route leading to the stunning Lac de Salanfe, a high-altitude reservoir nestled amidst towering peaks. The trail offers breathtaking views of the Dents du Midi and the surrounding alpine landscape. Starting from Van d'en Haut, the ascent is moderate to challenging, typically taking 2-3 hours one-way to reach the lake and the Auberge de Salanfe. It's a fantastic day hike for well-equipped hikers, revealing diverse flora and fauna. The path is generally well-maintained. Best visited from June to October, when snow has melted and conditions are stable.
