Zillergrund Reservoirs & Alpenrose Dam

Located at the end of the picturesque Zillergrund valley, accessible by a scenic bus ride, these reservoirs offer stunning natural beauty and a peaceful escape. The Alpenrose Dam is an impressive feat of engineering. Visitors can walk along the dam wall, enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding glaciers and peaks, or hike on trails leading deeper into the pristine alpine environment. There's a mountain hut (Alpenrose Hütte) nearby for refreshments. It's a less crowded alternative to the Stillup Valley, offering equally spectacular high-alpine scenery. A toll is typically required for private vehicles or a public bus service operates during summer.
