Mountain Rescue & Emergency Services

Val di Funes benefits from a dedicated and highly efficient mountain rescue service (Bergrettung Südtirol) readily available for emergencies in the alpine terrain. This service, often involving volunteers, is equipped to respond to hiking accidents, mountaineering incidents, and other emergencies in the rugged Dolomites. In addition, general emergency services (Fire Department, Police) are active in the valley to ensure public safety. Emergency numbers are standard (112 in Europe). Visitors are strongly advised to carry appropriate safety gear, inform others of their hiking plans, and check weather conditions before venturing into the mountains.
