SchafbergBahn (Cog Railway)

An iconic cog railway, Europe's steepest steam cog railway, that transports visitors from St. Wolfgang (538m) up to the summit of Mount Schafberg (1783m). The approximately 35-minute journey offers spectacular panoramic views of up to 13 lakes in the Salzkammergut region. At the top, visitors can enjoy several viewing platforms, hiking trails, and the historic Schafbergspitze Hotel. Operates seasonally from late April/early May to late October.
